Hi Jeff,

I broke off a 1/2" poly nipple and bought an Orbit Nipple Extractor at Lowes.  Though I push downward really hard while turning, it simply won't bite in and extract.  I am scraping off plastic but not getting the needed bite.  And the harder I push, the more pressure between the nipple and the elbow it's in.  Anysuggestions besides just buying a tap?

The next step is to dig up the whole apparatus and replace it.  You will have to expose the other end of the nipple so that you can remove it without getting soil into the lines.  Since you have already had trouble, this might be the best way because you dont want to do more damage than necessary.
