QuestionOur system allows 2 programs (A&C) but we use only program A.
When power went off last Monday, although I had just put in a
new backup battery last June 11, our Program A went crazy and
had to be re-programmed, which I did. Everything looked fine
with Mode Switch set to 'Auto' and Program Switch set to 'A',
but when I set the Program Switch to 'Run' a message appeared
in Time Display alternating IR.CA and SC.CA and the sprinklers did not come on as programmed in either 'Auto' or 'Run'.
What does the message mean and why don't the sprinklers work ?
AnswerHey Ruth, I hope this helps. First of all, the letters you are seeing(IR,CA,SC,CA etc.) mean absolutly nothing. This controller is very old, and back then they did not give any codes if something went wrong. I would suspect that the controller is faulty, and it needs to be replaced. The only thing I can recommend, is first take out the battery, and then disconnect the power from the unit for about 1 minute. Then power the controller back up (keeping the battery out), then try to re-program and put the switch to run and see what happens. If you are still getting a bad display, then the unit needs to be replaced. Good luck and have a great day.
