QuestionGreetings, Out of the blue I now have stations 3,4,and 5 of a six station ORBIT system all coming on when 3 is on. I have checked all wiring,(cleaned and recapped), checked controller for new batteries, blew out circuit board for dust, and redid wires, and checked all valves for dirt. Each station works independently (undid 3,4 and 5 wires)and all have pressure and work fine. Please help
AnswerHey Thomas, I hope this helps. First I'm going to assume that the wiring, solenoids, and valves are all fine. If 3,4,and 5 all come on when #3 is turned on, take the wire off of the terminal marked #4, and take the wire off the terminal marked #5. If all the wiring, solenoids, and valves are wired correctly and everything is okay, then only valve #3 should be running right now (with the wires disconnected from #4 and #5). Is this correct? If you're still getting valves #4 and #5 running with #3, then the wiring is "not" okay. If the only valve running is valve #3, then the problem is in the controller. More than likely what is happening, is that the terminal strip, or circuit board is shorting out, and if you check your voltage at terminal #4 and terminal #5 (when #3 is on), you are probably getting voltage. With the wires still off of #4 and #5, and #3 turned on, take a volt/ohm meter and see if you are getting voltage at terminal #4 and terminal #5. If you are, then the controller needs to be replaced. If your not getting voltage at terminal #4 and terminal #5 (when #3 is on),but #4 and #5 are still running, then you have wiring that is severed and the hot wires are touching each other. Let me know if I can be of further assistance, thanks and have a great day.
