QuestionI have a slimdial 6 zone timer. 2 zones kicked on at the same time, I turned the timer off and the one that wasn't suppose to be on stayed on so I had to turn the water main off in order for it to stop. I unhooked the wires for that section and turned the water back on. It finally stayed off. Is it my timer that needs replaced?
AnswerHey Kelly, I hope this helps. It is probably the valve that needs to be replaced or re-built. Try this, hook the wire back up for this valve. Now turn it on by the controller. Once it goes on, turn it off by the controller. If it doesn't turn off by the controller, then it is probably the valve. To tell if it is the controller, take a volt/ohm meter and touch the negative lead to the common terminal, and the positive lead to the valve # that you had problems with. If it is giving you a voltage reading, and the controller is not turning on this valve, then the controller is at fault. If it is not giving you a reading when the controller is not turning on this valve, then the valve is faulty. Let me know if I can be of anymore help, thanks and have a great day.
