QuestionI have a hunter sprinkler system . I recently replaces a supply line to the system ( it was broke) now I have a valve that will not turn off. it was also the start of the system for the year. what gives took it apart several times looking for dirt but it looks clean???
AnswerHey Darren, I hope this helps. Did you un-screw the solenoid, and make sure the port and hole were clean? Also check and make sure the solenoid plunger moves freely up and down and does not stick in the up position. You might also want to check the diaphram when you take it apart, and make sure it doesn't have a rip or tear in it. Also look in the bottom of the valve, where the diaphram seats on the valve body, and make sure this is smooth and doesn't have any pits or notches in it, or that it is cracked. When you have the valve apart, you also might want to turn the water back on briefly, just to make sure the line has been flushed out properly. Sounds like you're on the right track, worst case is that you might have to replace the whole valve. Let me know if I can be of further help, thanks and have a great day.
