Rainbird STPi600

Question
This unit comes with preset gaps in multiple times per day watering (start time plus 4, 6, 8, etc.).  We have a watering ban from 10am - 6pm so this preset timing does not allow me to properly water my grass.  Is there a way to bypass the preset time increments?  Rainbird's web site was less than useless.

Answer
Hey Craig, I hope this helps. I don't believe you can bypass this feature. It looks like this controller doesn't allow you to pick your start times, or at least not more than one. If you pick a time, lets say 8:00 am. If you want just one start time, then that is the only time it will come on. If you want 2 start times, then it will be 8:00 am and (6hours later) 2:00pm. If you want 3 start times, then it will be 8:00 am,(4 hours later) 12:00pm, and (4 hours later) 4:00pm. If you want 4 start times, then it would be 8:00am, (3hours later) 11:00am, (3 hours later) 2:00pm, (3 hours later) 5:00pm. I would suggest starting it early in the morning, lets say 2:00 am, and setting the run times for each zone longer, to allow a deep watering. Do you need more than one start time? If you need more than one start time, couldn't you start it at 6:00pm? Even if you need 4 start times, if it started at 6:00pm, the last start time would be at 3:00am, which should be enough time to finish by 10:00am. I'm not real sure why you would need more than one start time. Well good luck and have a great day.
