QuestionI had my sprinklers winterized and now when i try to turn them on for the summer nothing happens. i turned on the water inside the house, the clock shows the rain drop as if the water is on but nothing happens. i tried to manually turn them on from the outside and again nothing happens. i usually hear water in the pipes when i am downstairs and the sprinklers are on but this doesn't happen. the clock is working and is set to go on. Any advise you can give would be great.
Thanks,
Patricia
AnswerHey Patricia, I hope this helps. It sounds as though you might have what is called a master valve installed on the system. If the main valve is turned on, and you tried to turn the automatic valves on outside, but you didn't get any water, then between your turn on valve, and the automatic valves, something is wrong. A master valve is an automatic valve, that is installed past the turn on valve, and unless it is opened by the controller, will not allow water to flow to your other valves. First I would check in the back of the controller, where the wires hook to the different terminals.Look for a terminal marked either MV (master valve) or PS ( pump start). See if a wire is hooked to either one of these terminals, if it is, then you probably have a master valve hooked up and need to locate it and see why it is not working. If you don't have a master valve, and there is no water getting to the automatic valves, I would double check that the main turn on valve is turned on, or maybe it seems to turn on, but the gate or ball inside the valve, is not opening properly. Let me know if I can be of anymore help. Thanks and have a great day.
