QuestionQUESTION: The controller is not working. No matter I set it to manual, auto or off mode, the system keeps running. Any ways I can do to shut it off? Any information provided will be appreciated.
ANSWER: Hey Jay, I hope this helps. If you totally dis-connect the power from the controller, this will not allow the system to run, unless your valve(s) are stuck on. So if you dis-connect the power, and the system continues to run, then it is probably not your controller, but you have a problem with your valve(s). If you dis-connect the power, and the system shuts off, then you have a problem with your controller, and it probably needs to be replaced. Let me know if I can be of anymore help. Good luck and have a great day.

QUESTION: Hi Jim,
Thank you very much for the info. I will try this out. Now the system runs on the Manual mode, but it doesn't run on the Auto mode. Is it still something wrong with the controller? Or does it have to do with the controller's setting. If it has to do with the setting, any ways I can do to reset it? I would appreciate your response.
ANSWER: Hey Jay, do you have a manual for this controller? And if not, do you have the model #? What you should do, is program in a schedule, and set it to come on at a certain time, and see if it goes on automatically at that time. If you need help programming it, I could help you, if I knew what controller you have. Also some manuals are available online, and I think this would be a big help. If the system runs when you try it on the manual mode, then more than likely the valves are okay, and it just needs to be programmed. Good luck and let me know if you need anymore assistance. Have a good day.

QUESTION: Hi Jim, I don't have a manual for the controller and only have a quick reference. The model number is HR-6100(60Hz)without pump start. I tried to program it to automatically come on at a certain time as it was before but it didn't come on. It might be that I didn't do it right. If you can assist on programming it, that would be great. Thank you very much for all the assistance you have been provided.
AnswerHey Jay, go to this web site www.coastwaterworks.com and in the search put "irrigation" for the site and "controller manuals" for the search. It will take you to pages and you will find the Hardie 6100 controller manual that you can download. When you are done programming the controller, make sure the first switch is in the "auto" position and the second switch is in the "run" position. Also the main dial should be on "current time". If it still doesn't work automatically, then it is probably time for a new controller. This particular controller hasn't been made for about 10 plus years. The current model is now made be "Irri-trol" and it is called the
rain-dial model. This is the controller I would use if you need to replace it.
