QuestionI have a Nelson 6 station controller which has been working fine till this spring, for some reason it lost its program memory(I do replace the back up batteries every spring). When I go to reprogram it I get as far as station 4 on the start times and it wouldn't let me do anything,I try 5 & 6 and it is the same thing.I purchased a new controller(Hunter XC-6 Station)and on this one I can get station 4 programed but it will not let me do station 5 & 6.We checked all of the wiring going to the selonoids after we installed the new controller and there was a couple not secured,we installed new insulators on each station but I still have the same problem. The system will run all stations on manual run so the valves seem to be working.
AnswerThis one is baffling. My first thought is that there is a problem with the wiring to those two valves, but if the controller is running them manually, they must have connection. Try connecting either valve 4 or 5 to one of the other terminals on the controller to see if it works on another terminal. If so, then the problem must be with the controller. Go back through the manual, following each step for programming again. Hunter has a hot line that you can call for help, and you may want to try that if nothing else works. Im sorry, but this is the best I can think of for now, but I will do more research and see if something makes sense.
