Question
I have a seven zone Rainbird sprinkler system I just turned on for the season.  I turned it on to test and all the zones turn on at the same time.  The only way to turn them off now is to shut the water off, the control box will not turn them off.  When I turn the water on, all the zones again turn on.  I checked the wiring in the control box and intitially the pink and purple wires were not connected (checked the neighbors control box who has the same model).  I connected those wires and still have the same results.  I checked all the valves(?) in the underground box and all but one appeard to have pressure?  Does this sound like a control box problem?

Answer
First make sure that the valves are adjusted properly.  The flow control should be open about halfway (the large knob on top of the valve).  Then unplug or disconnect the power to the controller for 5 minutes and then reconnect.  If there is a battery for backup, remove it as well.  Restore power and reprogram.  If this doesnt help, you may need a new controller.
