QuestionHi -
Hoping you could point me in the right direction.
I have an 8 Zone lawn sprinkler system which is about 5 years old and I have it professionally blown out every year. I usually turn the system on myself every spring and adjust the heads accordingly.
Here's the problem...for some reason this year two zones will run at the same time and it's the same for all zones. Example...If I turn on Zone 1, zone 2 will run at the same time. If I go to zone 2, zone 1 will still turn on.
The same goes for the rest of the zones...3 & 4...5 & 6 and 7 & 8. The two numbers together will turn on each others zone at the same time. Follow?
I thought it was just 1 & 2, but when every other is doing the same thing I'm assuming it's something in the controller???? (btw...the controller is a Hunter SRC).
Any ideas where to begin?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

AnswerHey Joe, I hope this helps. The first thing I would try, is pull a wire from the terminal, in the back of the controller. Lets take the #2 zone terminal wire off. Now turn on valve #1 and see if only valve #1 turns on. If they still both turn on, then you have a problem with the wires being crossed in the field. If only valve #1 turns on, then you might have a problem with the controller. What I would try, is take a volt/ohm meter and check the controller. Take the field wires off both terminal #1 and terminal#2. Now turn on valve #1, and put the positive lead on #1 terminal and the negative lead on the common terminal, and see what your reading is. It should be between 22 and 26 volts. Now touch the positive lead to the #2 terminal and see if you get a reading. If you do, then the controller is the problem. Try this first and let me know if I can help you anymore. Good luck and have a great day.
