Question
We're new to the irrigation systems and have received quotes on the Hunter and Weathermatic systems.  Are you familiar with Weathermatic and what (in your opinion) is the better of the systems.

Hey Catherine, I hope this helps. Both Hunter and Weathermatic make good products. They also both make different quality of products from lower to higher priced. For instance, They both might make a 1" automatic valve on the low end and sell it for $12.00 and they also both make a 1" automatic on the high end and sell it for $25.00. This is also true for their heads, controllers, and etc. What I would do, is get what model # valve, what model # head, what model # controller, etc. are they going to install. This way you know if it is the higher end, or lower end product. Labor would be the same, if they put in a cheap or better quality product. Normally I would lean towards the Weathermatic products. If you can get more information on the products they will be using, e-mail me the product #'s, and I could let you know if this is the right product. Or you could also go to a irrigation supply store, and find out prices on the various products, to tell if it is good, or if they need to upgrade the product. Spend a little more on a good quality product now, and it will pay for itself in the long run. Also both Manufacturers offer different warranties on the different products they sell.
