Dear Jeff, I recently bought a new home that has an irrigations system run by a Hardie controller.  The controller displays the programs fine but will not run the system.  I can manually turn each zone on at the valve for each zone but can not get the controller to turn the zones on. I do not have a rain sensor on this system. The system is run by a pump.  The controller displays the words "master valve" when I try to run it manually.  When I did the walk through with the realtor last month he was able to run the system from the controller but now I can not. I am thinking the controller is bad but am not an irrigation expert.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.  What could be the problem here?

If the realtor operated it, its probably not the controller.  The best remedy would be for you to get a manual for the controller and learn the proper way to use it.  Get your model # and try this link:
