QuestionI recently installed new valves and lines to my sprinkler system using a James Hardie Rain Dial (RD-600) control box. The system was tested and the 5 zones were in working order using the manual function. The system was tested again a few days later and the sprinklers didn't work. I replaced the battery in the control box and it still didn't work. I replaced the battery twice, it appears the box kills the battery as the LED displays lasts for a short period of time. Should I replace the control box and get a new one or what?
AnswerEverett,
I sounds like the transformer is bad. This put all the electrical demand on the battery. If you have an electrical tester, try testing the power input from the transformer. You should read 24-28 volts. If not the the transformer/ controller is bad.
