QuestionI am looking for an eight station hydraulic irrigation controller to replace a broken Toro series 90 custom II. It works by bleeding off the pressure opening up the valve. There are tubes that run to each valve to do this, no wires to the valve and I don't want to go battery operated.
AnswerHarold,
Wow.....I haven't seen a hydraulic controller for YEARS! Good for you for sticking with the old school...
I don't know of any new hydraulic controllers on the market that could replace your Toro. However, Toro makes a conversion kit to change from hydraulic to electric without to change out the existing infrastructure. It comes in an 8 station unit. Be prepared to spend a little money - you will be buying the conversion kit and a new electronic timer (the kit is probably more). In my opinion, though, the benefits outweigh the costs.
Try a local Toro shop, Ewing Irrigation, or John Deere Landscape.
Good luck - BC
