QuestionI have the Torro EL-6+ sprinkler system in a house I bought last year. It has been working fine. This week the system will not come on automatically or manually. The timer is still working as I can see the day an time are advancing. When I push the button for a manual start nothing happens. The system is not triggering for automatic start either. Is it possible there are issues with the wiring outside that are causing this or is is probably with the unit itself?

AnswerWhen you try a manual start does the display change? It should give an indication it is watering. (or at least it is trying) If not then I'd say the controller is bad.
You can try to test the output of the controller. Turn the controller to zone one. Touch one test probe to the "COM" terminal and the other to the zone 1 terminal. You should get 22-28 volts. If no voltage replace the controller. If you get voltage on #1 then try a few other zones the same way. If the other zone give you voltage also, then I suggest looking for a cut wire. Or, be sure the water didn't get turn-off somehow.
Hope this helps.
