QuestionMy timer is about 18 years old and suddenly is acting independant. Some zones come on others stay on. I want to replace the timer box. Can you suggest a replacment make and model. My system is Richdel 508 PR. thanks
AnswerThanks for your question.
The best answer I can give is buy what you feel comfortable with. The new controllers have many options, programs, etc. If your in to gadgets and programming options, then buy one which does that.
Personally, I prefer a controllers such as a Hunter PROC or a Rainbird EC. They have multiple options without being ridiculous. Remember, the more programming options, the more chances for programming mistakes.
I'd recommend going to Rainbird.com and Orbit.com websites and look over the choices. You shouldn't choose the cheapest, there is a reason for "cheap". You don't need the most expensive either. A mid-grade controller will work fine for you.
If you narrow your choices to a few, reply back and I can give you the pro-con of them.
