Questionnot sure if i am in the right category. our backyard slopes uphill to a road. from road down is a steep slope to a level area of about 7' that then slopes little more to a flat area. on the side of the house on the level area it is sloppy wet. large puddles then as it away from center it is just soggy wet and it drains down to the flat area and the water goes naturally down our driveway. we have been here 5 yrs and this is a first. it stays wet here in Fortuna California in the winter and we have lots of rain. it doesn't get much above the high 70's in the summer. lots of fog in the mornings and evenings. well this area just stayed wet when winter ended. we called the city and they say it is not from the road drains above. that it is a spring. this is again a first. water was tested by the city and they said it doesn't have readings that would make it be from a sewer leak or clean water drain leak. so this "spring" needs to be dealt with and we are not sure where to begin. any suggestions.
AnswerThough not my area of expertise, I'd suggest calling an excavation company. You will need some type of drain and possibly a sump. Every City, town and village has unique "codes" and regulations concerning drainage. It's best to deal with a local person who knows them.
