QuestionQUESTION: Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction, I just moved into a new house and found some sprinkler heads in the lawn. There is no timer anywhere just a valve on the side of th house that i can turn on in the basement - main water supply but nothing happens. Seems like there is something stopping it from getting to the heads. There is also a "key" thing next to the valve but cant find where to turn it on. Also there is three pvc pipes coming up by my side of the house, reached the key in there but seems like the curve under the ground. Any suggestions.
Thanks
ANSWER: Sorry for my late response.
Try digging in front of the 3 pipes as they enter the ground. You may find 1 large valve box or 3 individual valve boxes. The key probably fit into the valve handle to operate it.

QUESTION: any idea how far it would be down, dug a little and not finding anything. Also there is two wire there, one goes into the garage , appears at one time maybe a time. The other goes to a black circle item on the front of my house, says sensus on there prob water reading. Should there be any other wires , or can i just hook up a timer and it should work/
ANSWER: The Sensus is your water meter reader. Don't hook any power to those wires. Your guess of a timer is possible. Try cutting the jacket off the wire in the garage and tell me what you see. If it has multiple single wires in it then I would say you just need a timer.
How big are the 3 PVC pipes? It is possible the valves are directly at the bottom of them.

QUESTION: the wire in the garge has four wires, red yellow blue and white. I would say the pvc piping is a little bigger than a golf ball, I cleared all the rock out of them and tried to put the key in there but they bend under so not able to reach in there with the key.
AnswerThanks for the update info.
The wire in the garage corresponds to the valves/ pipes you have. (4 wires, 3 valves) The white would be "COM" which connects to one wire of each valve and the remaining colored wires connect to the other wire of each valve. The size of the pipe is a concern though. It is 1" pipe and would be the size of piping going to the sprinklers. My guess is the previous owner took the controller and valves when they left the home. I hope I'm wrong.
This may sound strange, but if you could e-mail a picture of the pipes with the house in the background it would help. What I'm looking for is a of picture of what the connection to the house looks like and the 3 pipes location to the house. My e-mail is:

It appears we are close to resolving your situation. In this case a picture will speak 1000 words.
