QuestionI have 2 non-functioning 'stick' sprinkler heads, the kind that's elevated for taller plants, not popups. They're at the end of a station, feeder pipes a good 8" deep in my wife's flower bed (which I hesitate to dig up). The first bad one in line has no break or leakage, so I figure the problem is upline. The real problem is, there's no evidence of leakage anywhere along that line. Maybe the line is just buried too deep to tell - I only water each station 10 min. once a week. For now. I'm hoping you can help me shorten the time & effort (and damage!) with a tip or 2 about how to find this problem. Again, only the last 2 heads are dry and have no obvious damage or leakage. Thanks for anything you can tell me.
AnswerThanks for your question.
I understand you dilemma and I wish I had an easy cure.
First have you removed the sprinklers and checked the filters. Next I would dig at the garden sprinkler closest to the valve and try to shove something through the pipe. A fish tape works well. My guess is the pipe has been kinked during planting or tilling of the soil. If this is the case you should feel the kink with the fish tape.
Wish I could help more.
