QuestionQUESTION: for a couple weeks in front yard flower bed i noticed a water leak. it was getting a bit worse each day. i live in a rental and prop management sent the flake handyman out. long story short, water was knocking at my front door. hours later...this was fixed. BUT NOW....backyard sprinklers do not work. i hear water running though. 2 hoses in backyard. the hose connected to rear of house works. the one connected to a wall in backyward does not. what could of happened here...? any help would be much appreciated. thank you!
ANSWER: Hello Jameson
Your description sounds like there are several possible issues you may be facing, and without seeing the repair work done or knowing the layout of your current plumbing and mechanical equipment, I cannot accurately provide any solutions or insight to your dilemma. My best advice is to get the handy-man back, explain to him what has happened since his repair and see to it that he does it properly
Sorry I wasn't more helpful.

QUESTION: is there a sequence you have to follow when turning back on valves. there is a yellow valve next to main water valve. and then by sprinker system there is a red valve.
thanks!
AnswerTo operate the irrigation system, the valve which supplies water to it should be open, otherwise your entire system will not operate. If the irrigation system has more than one supply, make sure that all of the valves which supply the water are open. I'm afraid the colour of a valve is insignificant. If the valve which isolates the city water supply to your home is closed, your entire house would not have water (i.e. the sink faucets, toilet, the irrigation system etc.) This valve is located upstream (before) of your water meter. If you're confident that all the water valves are open, including the service line to your house first, then the irrigation system supply(s), and then all of the valves to your hose taps, then your issue lies with the errant repair.
Take Care,
Tony.
