Question
All zones were working fine, it rained yesterday and only 2 zones are currently working on automatic or manual. If I use rain sensor bypass the problem persists. What suggestions do you have? The 2 zones that are working are separate from the the 6 zones that are not working.

I would suspect that a wire, probably the common wire for the zones that are dead is shorted out somewhere.  It may be the connection at the controller, or at one of the valves.  Check all of the wiring connections at the valves, and if they dont already have them, install waterproof wire nuts.
