Question
We are looking into getting a sprinkler system installed.  The two companies that have come out both use Hunter materials and I'm ready to roll with that.  My husband, who used to install sprinklers many years ago said to find out if Toro systems are still used and which is better.  My question-Is Hunter newer and a better product than Toro of many years ago?  We live in Minnesota outside of Minneapolis.  I call our yard, "Captain Crunch."  It's been a REALLY dry summer.

Hi Tammy,

When your husband installed sprinklers many years ago, Toro was used much more frequently than it is now.  In my opinion, their product quality had really suffered over the past 8 years or so.  The company I work for used Toro exclusively for 20 years until about 2001.  We currently use Hunter and Rain Bird products and are happy with the quality.  I know that Toro has been working on there quality issues but I really couldn't tell you if they are back up to par yet with the competition.
