QuestionHeres my question. I noticed this morning (for the 2nd time in a row) that my sprinkler system will work fine for about 30min and then start spitting air and stop working. I immediately turned it off for fear of damage. I also want to note that our area is experiencing VERY low rain levels. Could my sprinkler well (separate well from home well) be dry? Other thoughts?
AnswerI want to be up front and let you know that I am not an expert in wells. It is possible that your well is dry if it is putting out air. Definitely do not run the well when this is happening - you will probably burn out the motor as most pumps rely on the water to cool them. It could be that a suction fitting is loose somewhere allowing air to enter the system as well. Your best bet would probably be to call a well company and run it by them. They may know if people in your area have been experiencing wells running dry lately. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
