leaking pvc pipe joint

Question
i installed a sprinkler system in my backyard (took a while, but it works).  One major problem, the pvc pipe glued to the threaded pvc connector that connects to the turn valve, it's leaking.  The reason is because i didn't do a good job of gluing.  i've tried a bunch of sealants, and i've been told to use epoxy putty.  my question is whether i should cut the pvc pipe and replace?  and if so, how would i go about doing this?

Answer
You should replace it. Cut the pipe and remove the threaded fitting. Replace the treaded fitting and use a telescope coupler to reconnect the pipe. Make sure you use teflon tape on the threaded fitting and make sure not to cut off to much pipe for the telescope coupler. Go to Lowes or Menards for the fitting. If they don't have it go to a local pipe store or irrigation company and ask for a telescope coupler or a slip fix.
