QuestionThis is my first attempt at ever turning it on (sprinkler)and I opened (right near the well) a turn lock with a long key with what is like a U on the end. Lot's of spitting and spattering near some heads, but another pipe near the well is now pouring out water (around a 4" PVC pipe). We also have a sand filter right by the well. I tried to reverse the turn and shut it off but water keep flooding out of this other pipe (this same 4" PVC one). Any suggestions? Is there a sequence of events with a well and sand filter that I can go somewhere to see/follow directions?
Thanks
AnswerIt sounds like the water is coming out of a drain or bypass that may be used for winterizing the system. Look for other valves that may close down that 4" line. Or, unless you know for certain that the valve you opened is for the sprinklers, it may be the one opening the "drain". Since every system is unique, it may not be possible to find some resource online that will guide you. Better to find someone local---even a neighbor who has a similar system or may know about yours.
