QuestionI have a Toro ECXTRA Outdoor Sprinkler Timer, Model 53768. The problem is that the sprinklers will not come on with any of the timer settings on. I can use the box to manually turn on each sprinkler zone, so I know that everthing is hooked up properly. I thought I had a bad box, so I bought a new one and replaced the old one. Same problem exists.
I called the Toro help line and they said to do a reset, which just meant unplugging the unit from power for 45 minutes, which i did. That didn't solve anything, as nothing was reset - all of my previous timer settings were still intact.
I have been using this box for over a year with no problems. I use the optional time pod mechanism to program all of my zones, with the included software on my computer.
I have also tried manually setting the timer settings without the time pod/software. Still no luck.
Did I get a box that worked, then died and then the one I bought to replace was also a dud?
Or is there another reason why these timers are not working?
Thanks
AnswerI have to tell ya that I'm not really familiar with that timer but it really does sound like a timer problem. If the valves come on with manual then they should come on with automatic. What I'm saying is that I don't think that has anything to do with the valves.
