QuestionI have a shallow well used to run my lawn sprinklers. The watter flow from the well is adequate after I do the following maintenance but will gradually reduce over the course of 3 or 4 weeks requiering aditional maintenance. What I do when the watter flow is reduced to a point the sprinklers quit working is to disconnect the pump from the well head. The head is simply a 2" PVC pipie. I rigged a cap with 2 hose fittings that I connect to house water and flush the well for 10-15 minutes. After reconnecting the pump the watter flow is increased. I think the well point is getting plugged with fine sand over time. Is there a more permenant solution or am I doomed to recurring maintenance?
AnswerJacques,
Sounds like you're doomed to me, unless you can some how come up with an automatic flush system that run off the sprinklers clock that you can connect in a similar way that you are doing manually. Without more info I can't say how practical that may be. It sounds like the well is the problem and a new well is in your future. jim
