we have a slope yard and we would like to know the best way to even out the ground,so that we put up a above ground pool 15x42.we do not have funds for a contractor.

By far the easiest way to even out the ground is to create terraces. These can be created using the cut and fill sytem, decide the number and height of the terraces by dividing the difference in height between the top and bottom of the slope by the number of terraces desired.

The easiest way to retain the soil in the terrace is to use large rocks but this work will clearly require the help of a contractor. Otherwise take the pickaxe, spade and shovel and start digging, thats all I can advise really.
