QuestionGood afternoon! I currently live in a beautiful house with a horrible yard. In fact, the joke is that we own the only mountain in north florida. The land slopes gently down on the left of the house however, most of our land use and landscaping plans occur (now and in the future) on the opposite side. We've drawn up pond plans - something we've done before - but have never had to deal with a regrading issue. We are unable to place the pond and other landscaping on the other side because of pipes/wires, etc being there. Any ideas on how to change the slope of the land so it changes the direction of the runoff and takes away some of the severity of the slope?
AnswerHello Georgia
Why not try terracing your slope? It's the oldest and most effective way of levelling a slope and, instead of making the water 'run off' it actually allows the water to remain so that it can be used.
