QuestionHi I recently did landscaping and i spent about $1,750 in supplies for a job. The work consisted of bringing in 4 yds. of topsoil to level the ground which was a 800 sq. ft. portion of a back yard, installed a drainage box with a 8 ft. runoff tube, also installed two plastic gutter drains apx. 10 ft. long on either side of the back corner of the house. I also built a flat rock retaining wall to shape a walkway apx. 25 long, and rebuilt a pre-exsisting round rock retaining wall apx 80 ft. long. I transported 1 yd. of pea gravel to completely level a 160 sq. ft. area, and brought in 1 yd. of montana river rock to surround a pre-existing water feature. Laid Typar material and bark over apx. a 1000 sq. ft. area which was along a pathway and between the retaining walls and fence, i am now in the process of laying concrete pavers covering 185 sq. ft. area. I would really appreciate a helping hand right now and input on this. I hope that that i'm not asking too much. Please get back to me. Have a good day. Thank you
AnswerHi,
It sounds as though you have really been up to your ankles first in landscaping, and from the sound of it, you will have a very attractive and functional landscape when you are done. Congratulations!
As I understand your request to be, you are now installing concrete pavers and are in need of some assistance in how to install them. Am I correct in this assumption? If so, pavers are an excellent choice in many applications where the pouring of a solid concrete surface is either impractical or aesthetically undesirable. The type of pavers and their use depend on the application and purpose for the pavers. Knowing the primary use for the surface that will consist of pavers determines in large part how to prepare the area and how they should be installed. If you could provide me with some additional information I would be happy to assist you in answering your question on how to install them.
Yours for a greener garden,
David Ward
