Question
I have a small backyard in NYC, for the last few years I simply covered the
ground (earth) with wood chip however we have now two little dogs who love to
dig into the garden and push all the wood chip to the garden sides.
I would love to stay away from tiles or concrete as we have enough of that in the
city. Do you have any suggestions?

Hello Marie. The first solution that springs to mind is a gravel garden with an Italianate feel. However, I guess the dogs would ruin that too!

Therefore, why not consider a reclaimed-brick walking surface, laid on a simple sand and cement mixture. Brush the same sand and cement mixture into the cracks and wait for a rainshower or water, in order to make it set hard.
