QuestionI have a rectangle section on the side of my house near my drive way that I want to do something with. At first I had laid down mulch but that became messy and ugly. Then there were these rolly polly things making holes in the mulch (I hate bugs) So I took all of that up and I now want to lay rocks down. I was told to lay down bags and then I was told to lay down newspaper and then a bag before placing the rocks down. WHAT IS THE PROPER WAY of doing this? Any suggestions, tips etc...?
AnswerHello ATWilson, If you are laying gravel you will need to lay some builder's nylon underneath. However if you wish to lay cobblestones or any other kind of patio I would reccomend just using a mix of sand and cement and use a hosepipe or wait for the rain to set them. Do not use bags or newspaper!
Good luck,
