QuestionHi Jonathan,
I'm about to begin a gravel path to my backyard wildlife habitat. The path
must cross two major tree roots - one blue spruce and one corkscrew willow.
Because they're major roots, I don't want to cut them. My thought is to simply
build up dirt over these roots (and to both sides of the path) so that I can put
down at least a reasonable depth of gravel. (Going around them is NOT an
option.)
What do you think? Other ideas?
Thank you.
Ron
AnswerHi Ron, I feel that your only options are to cover them completely or expose them and make a feature of them. Covering them will not damage them and exposing them will show that you're prepared to go with nature as opposed to fighting it- make a stand!
