a new drainage was built in the corner of our backyard when our house was built after destroying the original house. our neighbors' yards all drain toward this and it is eroding our sideyard. we can't grow anything in there because of the needles and shade from the mature pine trees . our nextdoor neighbor talks about us building a drain system. i wonder how much it will cost us.

Unfortunately, that's a question that is impossible to answer without visiting the property and anaylzying the situation.

The best thing to do is to call the best landscapers in your area, at least three of them, and have them visit your property and give you a quote. They should be very willing to do so at no charge to you.
