QuestionDear Sir
We need two 8 feet tall plants for our building lobby. At present we have two 4 years old dracaenas reflexa. They are sick and dying. There is indirect sunlight but not much since the floor to cealing window is facing North. What plant would you recomend?
Thank you.
AnswerIn your situation you may have to continually rotate out sick plants for more heathy ones if you don't have very good light. Ficus trees are good for 8'ht but may also slowly weaken due to lack of direct light. You could replace the dracena with healthy ones but they too prefer better light. Some palms work well too...Kentia is good for lower light. Norfork Island Pine is doing great in very low light in my fathers house but can get quite large. Truthfully there are many plants that may work, you'll have to experiment to see what does best with your particular light, care and air. If you google "indoor plants" there is a great deal of information on line.
