QuestionMy house is built in an old gravel pit that filled will water and they built houses around it. I have top soil 2-3" rest sand. What is the best way to prepare and build my timber wall? (it seems that sand wouldn't hold the beadman too good. Can sand be used behind the wall or do i need to use rocks? how far back should the deadman go back? ect)
AnswerYour question can not be answered without more detail being provided.
1. What is the height of your wall?
2. Is there a surcharge on the wall, like a house or pool within 10 to 20 feet of the wall on the up hill side, or the side being retained.
3. Is this sand fill or original soil?
4. How long is the wall?
