QuestionMy yard has a front age of about 200 feet and a depth of about 150 feet. I have lived here for about 4 years and have tried to make my yard better but i am losing.
I am considering having the lawn and all the various weed, including creeping Charlie, sprayed with something that will kill all the weeds and grass and starting all over.
I am not certain if I should have someone plow up the yard or if i should rent a piece of equipment and rototill it up myself.
I live in northeast Ohio and the land is pretty much clay. The yard gets sun about 60-70 %of the time. Also I would like your input on what type of seed I should use if I go ahead with this. The neighbors don't do much with their lawn except cut them so I do get a lot of stuff when the wind blows.
There is a lake on my property and i am considering running water, Up hill< to water the yard if i go ahead with the project Thanks for any advice.
AnswerIt sound like your having a tough time with the lawn!! To get the lawn in perfect condition, it has to start with the soil underneath. I would suggest having the existing lawn removed, soil reconditioned and graded/leveled, and either seeded or sodded. Sodding is more expensive because it is instant lawn. If you decide to seed, use a tall fesue blend, which will hold up better in drought conditions. Good luck
