Question
Can I install sod over part of my brick patio - like a raised bed ?  I do not want to take the brick up in the area - the size of 5 x 8 kidney shape I am thinking.
Logic would say yes- but I want to do it right -

JW, in principal, yes you can do it. However, it may mean that your sod will not do as well. The patio may make it difficult to drain when it rains and the sod may hold moisture and become prone to fungus, etc.
As for the sod, you will also need to add several inches of soil over the brick.
