QuestionI am very new to landscaping but I have volunteered to help my father re-landscape a section of his garden. I am pulling out a bunch of bushes and shrubs and I am noticing that some sort of cloth liner has been placed several inches below ground level throughout the entire garden. Of course I am pulling large sections of this liner out with the bushes and I am wondering what the exact purpose of this liner is and wether I should replace it or not before replanting anything. One note which may or may not be of importance: there is an in-ground sprinkler system installed under the garden. Any advice on this matter would be great. Thanks!
AnswerPete,
I would recommend pulling all of the weed fabric out of the beds. I use weed fabric for when I do hardscaping jobs, like flagstone paths, the fabric does not work for garden beds and it becomes just a pain in the neck over time. Hope this helped
