QuestionWe have a very small hill behind our condo, is it better to plant it in grass or ground cover. THank you Jim
AnswerNot trying to be "indecisive", but it really depends on a number of factors - Just some guiding questions to help you get your choice right the first time...or make it self-evident:
How steep is the slope? Are you willing/able to run a mower over it? Do you own a mower? Is it worth the $200 for one?
If it is a narrow slope (less than about 6-8 feet), it may be too narrow to irrigate efficiently. Is it in the shade? Not good for grass. Where do you live? Some areas work better that others for certain types of lawn/grasses.
How much maintenance are you willing to endure? Most folks with condos buy them because somebody else takes care of the landscape...And if you live in a condo, you may not be able to landscape anything without the association's approval, first. They may have firm opinions as to what you can/cannot plant there - more than just the plant type - maybe there is an easement or structure that would be in the way, or maybe its not even on the condo's property ...etc.
Glad to help out; if you can help me filter through these issues ~Marc
