Mixing a flagstone walkway with paver patio

Question
We currently have a paver patio with a mixture of terra cotta and gray colors of various sizes of square and rectangle bricks.  I want to know if it would look strange if we put a flagstone pathway leading to the patio from our front yard.  Or should we just stick with the pavers to do the pathway?
Thanks!

Answer
flagstone comes in all sorts of colors, depending on availability...No, I don't think it would look too odd, if you got the color right.  Just pull up a paver when you go to the stoneyard, and see what matches.

Also, you can CUT flagstone with a mason's saw and mimic the "squareness" of the other paving material...no law says you have to leave it with jagged edges.  For a less formal edge, you can chip the flagstone with a mason's hammer, but into any shape you desire.  I've seen them chipped to match the paver shape (key, zigzag, etc), even as sculptured shapes to match pot profiles or building details (cornices, etc).  A saw makes for easier work, though.

The biggest "match", I think, is the color.  Cost may also be a factor, as flagstone can be crazy expensive in some areas.
