Questionwe moved into our home last summer and need a great deal of landscaping help. our home is situataed on a golf course and the original owners planted 30 honeysuckle trees on the property border to aid in being hit by stray golf balls. over the past 19 years the honeysuckle trees have grown to 15+ feet tall and look horrible. we want to remove them and need advise on just how to accomplish this task. the back yard is over planted with other large trees (maple, oak and evergreen) which provide enough protection from golf balls.
when is the best time to transplant hostas and day lillies?
AnswerBeth,
What advice do you need on the trees? All I can say without seeing your site is that a chain saw is usually the fastest and cheapest way to take out a tree.
Hostas and day lillys are pretty easy to Transplant almost any time. However, it easier to find them when they are leafed out and its easier on the plant after the main growth spurt of early spring/summer is over.
I would wait till late fall when they have finished blooming and are about to go dormant.
Good Luck
