QuestionI have a 3 year old brick paver patio and last summer I had a great deal of moss growth between the bricks. I tried using a vegetation killer which did not work. I resorted to using a screwdriver between the bricks to remove the moss but it returned in a few weeks. Do you have any suggestions? I do not want to damage the brick since it is beautiful patio. I live in the Chicago area. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
AnswerMike - there are two approaches listed below. The first is more "environmentally friendly", and listed by increasingly harsh levels. The goal is to create a hostile environment so this envasive plant lets go of it's grip on your brickwork:
Approach # 1 ?Pressure-wash with lime, vinegar, or laundry powder/chlorine mix:

A wide-spectrum herbicide didn't work before, because it is designed to kill a wide range of plant materials. What you need is a "silver bullet" type of product.
Approach # 2 ?Use a specialty MOSS herbicide (I've listed one, and there are others out there):

Neither of these methods will damage the brickwork.
Good luck! -Marc
