Question
I have about .5 acres in my backyard.  Sits on a steep slope.  Any design ideas for a backyard.

Well are several things you can do with a steep slope. I don't know what area you live in, but for one you could plant some really nice fruit trees on it. Slopes are perfect for citrus or other types of fruit trees. You can also just plant the slope with a ground cover and maybe add some other taller plants with a trim edging around them. Another idea is a water feature, and fountain or water fall cut into the slope can turn out to be a great feature in your yard. One more suggestion is cut in the slope and use a keystone type block to make a raised planter, you can add some dwarf trees and some landscape lighting to light up the trees.
