What size tree is suggested for best transplanting for a Colorado Blue Spruce tree in Western Colorado at 8200 feet altitude? We have been told a smaller tree will out perform a larger one in growth.

I am confused with your question. Does it say "not answered".If so,please ask the question again. I thought you meant other evergreens for your area(which I am not located in)besides Colorado Blue Spruce. If you just want to know a good size for transplanting a Colorado Blue Spruce,then sure I can help.
I just transplanted a Colorado Blue Spruce myself a few weeks ago and it is about 3 feet tall already. They transplant well when they have already established a good sized root system.I would say the best size to transplant would be a three year old sapling. Hope this helps.
