downslope backyard

Question
Hi Laura:  I am glad I can ask questions on line cause I visited several gardening store, they  have no landscape expert for information. THANKS

My question is my backyard is downsloping & It's back to a park. I want to level it up so I can plant some evergreen trees or perannuals.  I want to stack up some used tires to level my end of the backyard & put plants in it.  Now I have 2 questions
(1)How can I make sure the tire won't shift
(2)Will the used tires posion or toxic my lawn

Thanks for Helping

Answer
Tarra,
Sorry it took a while to get back with you. This is my busiest time of year.
First off I need to know a few more details before I can solve this. Everything CAN be solved in gardening so think positive.

Question 1: Where exactly do you want the tires to be located? Behind the potential evergreens or in front of them?

Question 2: Are you wanting to stack the tires after leveling out the slope and then put the tires there?

Question 3: When you say "stack" do you mean placing one tire on top of another and if so how many do you want to stack together?

Just answer these questions so I can give you the most accurate method.
