Question
I am planning to plant a Mayten tree about 4 to 5 feet from my swimming pool. I was wondering if you knew if the root system of the Mayten is destructive to gunite or surrounding concrete.

I have zero experience with Mayten trees.  In fact, I had never heard of it.  I need to get out more, I guess.

So I went a couple places to look it up.

One source said that without deep watering its roots would spread "voraciously" on the surface.  Not what I'd look for.
