QuestionI have recently removed some shrubs and replanted several arbovitaes. In the process, I removed a weed barrier that was covered in rock that was full of dirt, debris, and mulch. I would like to reuse this rock now that my new plants are in. Is there any way to clean this rock to eliminate all the extra junk. I have tried sifting it (facilitated by washing it down with a hose) with an old screen from a screen door and drilling holes in the bottom of a bucket, but neither seems to be able to get rid of the excess adequately. Any ideas?
AnswerShane,
When I did this, I washed the rock in a bucket, but with no drain holes. I used a strong hose and a stick to keep the pot stirred and overflowing until the water ran clear. The debris floated away with the overflow.
