Question I recently had someone take down my white pine tree and are left with a stump. This area is where I want to install a shed, however, I can't really dig down aroud the stump since there are underground sprinkler lines, power feed to the house and tv cable lines. Are there any "tricks of the trade" to at least get the stump down level with the ground so a floored shed can be built? Any hints are greatly appreciated. Thanks
Answersorry to take so long to repond...Thanksgiving vaction and all.
I know of few "tricks", except cutting the stump very low to the ground with a chainsaw. I have seen it done right at ground level. If you are going touse a post system for your shed, it shouldn't be a problem. There is a commerically available "stump remover" chemical treatment. It just speeds up the decomposition process.
If you are going to pour a slab, then the only good way is to dig it up (don't use stump grinder, unless you want to find those power lines the hard way!)
